(born in 2018)
The U4 program aims at introducing young children to the sport of soccer. The goal is for the players to have a fun summer, make new friends and to learn a few basic technical fundamentals such as kicking and controlling the ball. The program activities have been developed by Soccer des Collines’ qualified licensed technical team and are modeled after both Soccer Canada and Soccer Quebec recommendations. At this age, the focus is on players playing with the ball as often as possible and developing their balance and coordination. Teams are mixed (boys and girls).
Practices will be run by coaches (parent volunteers) with the help of Monitors (Aide Techniques) ** who are supplied by Soccer des Collines. The Club will also have a Coordinator *** present to ensure the lesson plan for each week has been properly setup and to provide feedback or recommendations to improve an activity. Coaches are responsible for the overall running of the activities, encouragement** and player engagement. At this age players can be very shy so praise and support is important. Monitors will support coaches by setting up the activity, demonstrating the exercises and providing support to the players.
** Monitors (Aide Techniques) are typically Soccer des Collines players from U13–U19 who have been hired by the club to support the U4-U8 programs.
*** Coordinators are a paid position. They are responsible for ensuring the practice runs properly, support the monitors and coaches. The Club will support the coordinator by providing training on how to supervise the practice. Any adult or player (U17 and up) can be a coordinator.

Soccer des Collines is a volunteer-based organization. All coaches are parent volunteers, and your involvement is needed to ensure the program is a success, so please sign up.
No experience is necessary. The Club will provide training to all coaches and monitors prior to the start of the season and support you throughout the summer. Coaches will also be given a copy of the new training manual which includes a week-by-week explanation of all activities. Specific dates, times and field location for the training sessions will be provided.
Each coach will receive a coach’s jersey
The Club will assign your child to a team when their registration has been processed. This will help ensure teams are equally balanced and make the first practice run more efficiently.
Please note, Soccer Des Collines intends on offering the U4 program in each of the four Municipalities (Sectors of LaPêche, Val-Des-Monts, Chelsea, Cantley). However, in order to be viable and ensure there are enough players during vacation periods, the Club needs at least 20 players to be registered in a sector. If less than 20 players register for a sector, the Club may amalgamate sectors and practices will be held in the sector where the majority of players reside. (For example: Val-Des-Monts may be amalgamated with Cantley).
IMPORTANT: In addition to needing coaches for each team, the Club will also need a coordinator for each of the sectors of Val-des-Monts and LaPêche sectors in order to offer the program in the sector. The coordinator can be one of the coaches.
