Coaches

Soccer des Collines is a volunteer-based organization.  All coaches are parent volunteers, and your involvement is needed to ensure the program is a success, so please sign up.

Sometimes, coaches for U16 teams have previous experience coaching with younger age groups, but new coaches are always welcome and encouraged to join. If you do not have experience, do not worry, the club will provide training to all coaches prior to the start of the season and support you throughout the summer.  Coaches are encouraged to use training material on the Club’s website to plan and prepare weekly lesson plans.  Coaches will be responsible for running their own practices, demonstrating the exercises and providing encouragement and feedback to the players.  The Club’s technical team is available to provide support.  You just need to ask.  The technical team will also try to attend a team practice and/or game to assess any needs.

** It is highly recommended that each team have at least one assistant coach and a team manager. **

Coach’s Uniform

Each coach will receive a coach’s jersey

Team Formation

For the U16 age group, the formation of the boys’ and girls’ teams are dependent on the number of registered players and the sectors from which they come.  If the number of players registered is sufficient to make multiple teams and there is an equal distribution, it is likely, but not guaranteed, that teams will be formed using the sector** method. Typically, for U16, there are only enough teams in the LRSO league to justify one regional division.

** Sectors – Our club is unique since we cover such a wide territory.  The club tries to minimize travel by using a two-sector approach:  1) Cantley/Val-Des-Monts and 2) Chelsea/LaPeche. That said, depending on the number of registrations, the Club may have to combine players from all sectors to form complete teams. NOTE: If there only enough players to form one team, the home sector for practices will be where the majority of players reside.

Practice schedule

If there is more than one team and they have been formed using the sector approach, teams will practice in their respective sectors.  Meaning that practices may occur in both the Cantley/Val-Des-Monts and Chelsea/LaPeche sector.

Uniform and Equipment

Club de soccer des Collines will provide each player with a full uniform kit, which includes a jersey, shorts and socks.  Parents are responsible for the purchase of shin guards and soccer cleats.  Additional club gear can be purchased from the SAVI boutique

Players should bring their own soccer ball (size 5) to each practice.  We suggest you put your child’s initials on the ball so it is identifiable.

Other Important information & COVID protocols

  • Please ensure your child has sufficient water.   Parents are encouraged to provide their child with a healthy snack for after practice
  • The Club will follow all government COVID protocols. These requirements may change throughout the soccer season and we will advise you accordingly.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.  Examples of protocols may include; Vaccine passport, disinfecting of hands before and after an activity, taking attendance, staying home if child has symptoms

*** To become a coach, assistant coach or manager please complete the volunteer form located here  ***

IMPORTANT – Each team will be provided with access to Mon Club Sportif.  This application is the main communication tool to access information for the locations and times of both games and practices.  Your team’s coach and or manager will provide you all the instructions.  It is very important that each player’s availability be updated in the application.  This will allow your coach to plan for practices and when to call up players.
